DHL unveils new global fulfillment platform for online retailers

LBR Staff Writer Published 04 April 2018

DHL has expanded its e-commerce fulfillment capability with a new global fulfillment platform and fulfillment centers in the UK, Americas and Southeast Asia.

The expansion has allowed DHL Parcel and DHL eCommerce to provide online retailers with a global solution to meet their e-commerce fulfillment requirements.

DHL has developed a new IT platform, which offers access to a network of fulfillment centers, and is closely incorporated with the firm’s shipping capabilities, helping customers to efficiently meet their fulfillment and shipping needs.

The platform is being expanded to the company’s fulfillment centers in crucial international markets, allowing retailers to serve consumers across the world.

The business can access different reporting options in real time and view current order data by directly integrating the new DHL solution into the webshop of the relevant retailer.

Existing fulfillment centers in the US, Mexico, Colombia, Hong Kong, India, Australia, Germany, as well as new fulfillment centers in the UK, and Southeast Asia allow DHL to cover all major e-commerce markets.

Located near London on an area of around 6,500m², the new fulfillment center in the English town of Radlett is used for same-day processing for the customers in the Greater London area.

DHL is also planning to expand fulfillment centers across other European markets such as the Netherlands, Poland or Switzerland.

Deutsche Post DHL Group’s post - eCommerce - parcel division CEO Jürgen Gerdes said: “The physical storage of ordered goods, their picking and packaging, the global shipping and delivery to the end-user's front door or desired address - we now offer all of this in even more markets and from one single source.

"By further internationalizing our fulfillment portfolio we will be able to do even more to help online retailers tap into new regions and benefit from the global e-commerce boom."

“Online retailers don't have to look for new logistics partners anymore if they want to expand their international reach.”
