LBR Staff Writer Published 26 April 2018

B2B and B2C cloud commerce platform Magento has named Deutsche Post DHL Group as Premier Partner for Shipping.

DHL has accepted an exclusive invitation to partner with Magento to help online merchants go global.

The partnership allows online retailers using Magento platform to select a range of DHL shipping services.

Customers can access a range of parcel, express, freight and other logistics services offered by the different DHL divisions.

As part of collaboration, DHL will associate with merchants through strategic placement on Magento properties and the core product merchant administration panel.

DHL said the acceptance of the Magento partnership emphasizes its intention to be the global provider in e-commerce logistics. The firm is serving customers in the 220 countries and territories.

DHL Express commercial global head and Europe CEO John Pearson said: "Our collaboration will provide Magento merchants with industry-leading international shipping and value-added shipping features from DHL that easily and flexibly connect shoppers with their goods.

"We're particularly excited about the potential of Magento Shipping, and will integrate our most advanced shipping solutions there.”

DHL will also train merchants on shipping integration best practices and enhancing cross-border shipping through Magento Community online, webinars, thought leadership pieces and events such as Imagine and MagentoLive.

In addition, DHL will access Magento product roadmaps to enhance integrations and the merchant experience.

Magento Commerce strategy and growth senior vice president Mark Lenhard said: "Commerce is no longer just about the "buy button" and our merchants are looking to meet their customers when and wherever they want to engage, buy, and receive their purchases,"

"By partnering with DHL, our joint merchants will be able to offer improved customer experiences and grow their business by providing their customers with the fast, convenient shipping options they expect.

With around 510,000 employees, DHL Group offers a range of international express, freight transportation, e-commerce and supply chain management services.
