LBR Staff Writer Published 02 February 2017

Transportation and supply chain management firm OIA Global has acquired American Cargo Express (ACE) for an undisclosed sum.

Based in New Jersey, ACE provides domestic and international freight forwarding, warehousing and trade management services to its customers.

ACE offers services such as air transportation, sea shipping, domestic transportation, warehousing and distribution, custom brokerage and trade management.

The firm’s air transportation services range from immediate same day service to deferred and cost effective programs.

Under sea shipping services, the firm provides weekly express service from all major US points and ports to most global destinations.

The company operates 11 offices with around 200 employees.

OIA Global CEO Charlie Hornecker said: “We value ACE's nearly 30-year commitment to providing quality freight forwarding, warehousing, fulfillment, as well as its inventory and trade management services to its customers.

“Joining forces with ACE expands OIA’s footprint into the highly competitive Canadian market of Toronto, and adds to our global network of locations which includes countries in Europe, Asia, and South America.”

“Canada will mark the 27th country in which OIA Global operates and we will continue to explore these types of acquisitions in the future, provided they are strategic to our business, help grow our brand, expand our network and create value for our customers.”

Established in 1988, OIA provides global logistics, materials sourcing and packaging solutions to its customers in 27 countries.
